Overview of the Automatic Dispensing and UV Curing Machine

In many manufacturing processes, adhesive dispensing and curing are carried out using separate equipment or manual operations. This can increase cycle time, result in variations in adhesive volume and dispensing position, and make it more difficult to maintain consistent processing conditions across products.

The CNC VINA Automatic Dispensing and UV Curing Machine is developed to integrate these processes into a continuous automated workflow. After the product is securely positioned on the jig, the dispensing system applies or dispenses adhesive according to the preset position, path, and volume. Once dispensing is completed, the product is automatically transferred to the UV curing area, where the adhesive is cured before the product is returned to the unloading position. Depending on the application requirements, the machine can be equipped with various motion mechanisms, including pneumatic cylinders, stepper motors, belt-driven mechanisms, mini robots, or other automated motion systems. Machine frame and worktable

The machine frame is constructed from industrial aluminum profiles, combined with an aluminum plate worktable or another suitable structure depending on the required load capacity and rigidity. This structure provides stable operation while allowing convenient installation, adjustment, and integration into the customer's production line. The overall machine dimensions are determined based on the product size, dispensing mechanism stroke, UV curing unit dimensions, and available installation space at the customer's facility.

Product jig assembly

The jig is designed to accurately position and securely hold the product during the dispensing process and subsequent transfer to the UV curing area. It is one of the key components customized for each product to ensure that the workpiece remains accurately positioned throughout the entire operating cycle. For products with special shapes or profiles, the jig can be designed with a quick-change mechanism to facilitate setup and product changeovers. For applications requiring dispensing along a circular profile, the jig can be integrated with a rotary mechanism to move the product along the programmed dispensing path.

Adhesive dispensing unit

The dispensing unit delivers adhesive to the specified position and along the required profile. The dispensing nozzle can be mounted on a block and moved along the Z-axis using a pneumatic cylinder, stopper, or other suitable drive mechanisms.

For products requiring dispensing along a specific profile, the dispensing nozzle or product can be controlled along the X/Y axes. Depending on the required speed and positioning accuracy, the motion system can utilize stepper motors with belt drives, IAI actuators, or equivalent solutions. For products with circular profiles, such as certain speaker diaphragms, speakers, or components requiring adhesive to be applied around the circumference, the jig assembly can be designed to rotate synchronously with the dispensing process. This configuration helps maintain a consistent adhesive bead along the product profile.

Adhesive dispensing control system

The Glue Controller is responsible for controlling and managing the adhesive dispensing process. Parameters such as dispensing time, air pressure, and other relevant operating conditions can be configured according to the characteristics of each adhesive and the requirements of the product. Depending on the machine configuration, the system can incorporate a pneumatic pressure regulator, timer, control circuit, or PLC to control the operating cycle. Controlling the dispensing parameters helps maintain consistent adhesive application from cycle to cycle and reduces dependence on operator handling.

UV curing unit

After the adhesive dispensing process is completed, the product is transferred to the UV curing area. The UV unit uses ultraviolet light to initiate the curing process for adhesives formulated for UV curing. The UV curing chamber is designed separately from the external operating area and incorporates protective covers and safety structures to minimize UV light exposure to the surrounding environment. This design improves operational safety and is suitable for integration into automated production lines. UV system parameters, including the light source, irradiation position, distance between the UV light source and the product, and exposure time, are selected according to the adhesive type and curing requirements of each application.

Transfer and product handling mechanism

The transfer unit moves the jig and product from the dispensing area to the UV curing chamber after the adhesive application process has been completed. Once the UV curing cycle is finished, the product is returned to the initial position for operator unloading or transferred to the next production process. Automating the transfer process reduces intermediate manual handling, maintains a consistent operating sequence, and facilitates integration with conveyors, robots, and other automated equipment within the production line.

Operating principle of the machine

The Automatic Dispensing and UV Curing Machine operates through an automated sequence that includes product positioning, adhesive dispensing, transfer to the UV curing area, and adhesive curing.

First, the operator places the workpiece into a jig specifically designed for the product. The jig assembly is positioned on the machine table, and the product is accurately located at the designated working position.

When the machine receives the start signal, the dispensing mechanism moves to the programmed position. The Glue Controller then controls the adhesive dispensing process according to the preset parameters. The dispensing nozzle can move along the product profile or operate in coordination with the jig's rotary mechanism to create a continuous and consistent adhesive bead.

After the dispensing process is completed, the transfer mechanism moves the jig and product into the UV curing chamber. The UV light source is activated for the preset exposure time to cure the adhesive layer.

Once the curing cycle is completed, the UV light source is switched off and the product is returned to the unloading position. The operator removes the completed product, loads the next workpiece, and starts the next production cycle.
